Kurnell is 21.4 kilometres (13.3 mi) south of Sydney situated in the local government area of the Sutherland Shire. The eastern side of the peninsula is part of Botany Bay National Park, and Towra Point Nature Reserve is located on the western side of the suburb. Captain James Cook landed on 29 April 1770 making this suburb a significant part of Australian history.

With access to Botany Bay National Park, Silver Beach, multiple playgrounds and the development of the new boardwalk, and new viewing platform at Cape Solander makes this suburb a perfect place to bring up the family.

Kurnell has a grocery store, restaurants and cafes, great seafood & butcher, gift shops and bottle shop so all your necessities are available and a regular bus service daily which travels to Cronulla Station.
